The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped six places to 44th on the latest Fifa Ranking released today, Thursday.
Despite the Eagles’ impressive showing in the World Cup qualification double-header against Cameroon that saw them inch closer to qualification for next year’s Mundial in Russia.
The Super Eagles now sit fifth in Africa , behind Egypt, Tunisia, Senegal and Congo DR, while reigning African champions Cameroon drop 10 places to 45th, one spot behind the Eagles.
Meanwhile, world champions Germany displaced Brazil atop the rankings after back-to-back wins in last week’s World Cup qualifier, with European champions Portugal, Argentina and Belgium completing the top five.
The next Fifa World Rankings will be published on October 5, 2017.
